Isaiah 54:10 – Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace removed, says the LORD who has compassion on you.
Covenant of Peace
Regardless of the things going on around you, we have God’s covenant of peace! This design illustrates three areas in life that may try to affect your peace. You can find this design on the chalk wall at Awakenings Coffee House in Boise until the end of February!
First, There’s You
In the center of the mural is a flower with words in the center “O Thou who art my quietness”, taken from a poem by Amy Carmichael. This flower pictures you, and me, anyone who knows Christ as their Savior can have this peace inside of them.
Relationships and People
The sectioned hills on the bottom right are a picture of relationships and people. There is peace even in the midst of relationship issues with friends and family. The actions of others may seem able to steal your peace, but no, they can’t. You’ve got God’s peace.
Mental and Physical Health
The flower in the upper right corner is a picture of dis-ease in the mind and body. This is much different than the other two, this is something you can’t escape from physically because you take your body and mind with you everywhere you go. Even in the midst of these kinds of struggles, there can be peace.
The last section is in the bottom left, an illustration of nature and the mountains that are mentioned in the verse. This section stretches beyond nature, and encompasses those things that happen on a larger scale, across the world, in cities and in government. You can have peace amidst the fear that surrounds you!
